Is everyone ready for Christmas? I am kind of ready…A couple of weeks ago I was so sick with the flu and that really set me back. My husband and I didn’t even get to celebrate our anniversary because I was so sick. I can’t seem to kick the exhaustion since I’ve had the flu so I’ve still been doing a lot of laying around. All my shopping is done and I just need to get my house cleaned up and get food preparations rolling.
I finally mailed out my Christmas cards. This year I challenged myself to make my cards using only the supplies that I have on hand. That worked. I also challenged myself to use my Cricut. That didn’t work. A friend of mine was nice enough to cut something g out on her die cut machine for me. My cousin chose to join my challenge so I can’t wait to see her card.
I have to say this is the ugliest card I’ve ever made! My picture came out too dark and I just didn’t have a clue!
I also made my gift tag for this year and it didn’t come out too bad. It kind of ended up matching my card. I used only what I had and didn’t buy anything new to make them either.
I did use my Cricut to cut out the deer So hopefully it made up for not using it on the card.
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy and be safe!
Mother Nature is playing with my emotions. I get teased for a few days and I get to wear some peep toes shoes. The next day I am wearing boots again. Please, Mother Nature send me some really nice weather that will stay for a long while. I’m done with the teasing!
It has been busy and also lazy here. Some days are pretty busy others I find myself just laying around!
Last weekend we went to a food truck festival. I learned about it on facebook and have always wanted to eat food from a food truck. Why? I don’t even know.
I thought the food was a little pricey. This was a sampler from an asian food truck. It included a Lemon Grass Chicken Taco, Pork Belly Slider and Filet Mignon Slider. The chicken was delicious! It had such a fresh taste. The pork belly was not my thing! I don’t like gooey fat. The beef slider was ok. More than anything this sampler just looked pretty!
I had to have a Lobster and Crab Roll so I waited almost two hours in line. It was funny because for the first hour everyone was real chatty and happy. When we were in the second hour a lot of people around us stopped being so happy (including us) we just stood there quietly because of the long wait and in my case my feet were killing me! And I felt that the rolls were just OK. My husband only took one bite out of the lobster roll.
The lines, OH, the lines! I waited 2 hours for some jerk chicken that truthfully would have tasted better if I had made it at home. I was so crabby by the time we got the jerk chicken that I didn’t even take a picture of it.
I have experienced a food truck festival and will never go again. I sound like a big downer. Maybe I’m too old for that kind of thing…NAH! It was the long waits in line that made me the most unhappy. It was nice to get home and put my feet up!
A while back I made this birthday card but I don’t think I ever posted it so here it is. Isn’t it cute?
I like the gatefold card because of the way it opens up. Just a little different than the everyday card.
Thanks for stopping by! We’ll chat again soon!

I hope everyone is well!
I have been quite buys going to my parents house almost everyday to make sure my mom eats something and takes her meds. It’s been a bit hectic and I have been unable to post like I usually do. I think my moms recuperation is going to take a while so I will be running around crazy for a bit of the near future. I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know that I am thankful for many, many things. I have been very blessed. I am also thankful for you! Thank you for hanging in there with me and checking out my blog.
I usually send out a Thanksgiving card to my best friends but this year things were too busy to even get cards done. I did make at least one card and I love the way it turned out. This card is simple, has minimum stamping and yet makes and impact with the top layer.
I am currently doing like 5 things at one time. I am posting this, have a cake in the oven and in the process of making something else. Thanksgiving will be here at my house and I am getting everything ready.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends!
If you are Black Friday Shopping good luck to you…I will be sleeping comfortably in my bed through all that madness!

It’s a busy week! I have things going on with my girls and my parents so the rest of the week there will be no napping!
It’s amazing how card making has changed in the last four years or so. When I started making cards about 10-12 years ago it was al about just using stamps on your cards. Now and for the last two or three years it’s all about not stamping on your cards. It’s more about using different types of papers and embellishments.
This card is a good example of that with minimum stamping.
I only used one stamp on this card. Card making has come a long way!
Happy Hump Day!

I went to the movies yesterday and I am totally in love with “The Book of Life”. I had seen the commercials for the movie back in July when I was in Mexico and I have been waiting since then for the movie to come out. It was so colorful, had life lessons and was great for all ages! I feel an obsession coming on like a sickness! Afterwards we just had to go to McDonald’s to get the happy meal that comes in the Book of Life buckets! I know-something is wrong with me!
Isn’t the bucket cute? I will be using it for storing stuff.
You already know about my obsession with Elvis. I made some thank you cards with some Elvis stamps that I have and they came out adorable!
I used the embossing and chalk techniques on this card which I thought worked well with Elvis! You can never have too many thank you cards on hand!
Have a great day!

Whew! It’s been a long busy week! I have been slacking on so many things that it’s really crazy and unlike me! I guess life just has it’s changes and you just roll with them.
Have you eve made a dryer sheet flower? I admit that I am a recycler of things but never thought I could recycle used dryer sheets! But yes, I am guilty of that now too!
This flower was made with used dryer sheets. It’s one of the most time consuming techniques I have used for paper crafting! I am lucky to have a round die cut so I didn’t need to cut each circle by hand. I spritzed each layer with paint, allowing them to dry for 24 hours then went around the edges of each layer with Stickles and also allowed them to dry. Finally, I punched a hole in the middle of the stacked layers and added a brad and added the flower to my card. The card turned out cute but that flower…I feel like it took forever to make!
Have a great day!

I don’t know about you but when I heard about Robin Williams passing I was so shocked. I just gasped! How can it be? He brought so much laughter to so many lives. I hope that he is in a better place. I am sure he will be greatly missed.
It seems fitting that I had planned to post this card.
I had never made a pocket card until this challenge in our swap group. I really enjoyed making this card. It’s just too cute with it’s pocket! I usually make just the regular fold card but I think this is now my favorite style of card to make…that is when I have extra time!
I am sure Robin Williams brightened up many people’s days with his great talents. It only takes a small kind word to brighten someones day (or a cute card!). It’s something that maybe I should practice everyday!
Enjoy your day!
