It’s National Scrapbook Day! I feel bad that I haven’t done Scrapbook Saturday in quite a while. I feel like I’ve kind of lost my umph for scrapbooking. I am sure I will get my mojo back eventually. Scrapbooking isn’t always easy. It’s time consuming, a bit expensive and requires quite a bit of ideas and creativity but I do enjoy it!
I feel almost like a historian when I scrapbook. I love taking pictures and telling the story of an event, person or place. It’s almost magical when you look back on those pictures.
My grandmother passed away in December. I scrapbooked this picture of our hands together back in September of 2012. I absolutely love this picture.
That particular day I was hanging out with my Abuelita. I was putting lotion on her hands and she said that our hands were very different. I asked her why they were different and she responded that hers were old and mine were young. If she only knew that I was kind of old too and that my hands look nothing like they did when I was fifteen. I love this picture more than I can say. I think I might have a canvas made of this picture to remind me of how lucky I was to have her.
Go scrapbook! Get your craft on and enjoy!

Have any great plans? I am going to have a fairly quiet weekend here. Cleaning house and doing laundry.
Can you believe I am still trying to catch up on scrapbooking with pictures from 2012.
Going to the zoo always involves whichever family members want to come including my brothers and their families and my cousin and her family. Last year the majority of us went. The surprising thing is that it was 70 degrees and balmy! It is usually maybe about 30 degrees or below in December when we go to the Lights! It felt so different…so un-winterlike. It was just weird. Either way we had a great time!
I am super excited to try a new scrapbooking style/tool. I purchased Project Life. It seems like it will be an easier and faster way of scrapbooking. I will still be adding lots of embellishments ( I have so much that I have to add some!) to make the pages really pop. It’s been for sale for a while on places like HSN or QVC. They are just now starting to sell Project Life at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Archivers.
I was so excited at the store when I found Project Life that I had to take a picture! I hope to be starting it soon. I would like to start with my 2013 pictures so wish me luck! For more information on Project Life visit this spot http://www.beckyhiggins.com/
Have a fabulous weekend!

I am kind of sad because vacation is almost over. So now I just need to enjoy the last few days I have left. Yesterday we went to Lake Geneva, WI to spend the day. We had never been there and we picked the perfect day. The weather was awesome. We checked out the frozen lake and shops. Lunch consisted of fried shrimp. Of course I enjoyed a Bloody Mary! It was a cute town with some nice shops. My favorite shop was called A Little Funky. They had some great vintage furniture and other wonderful items. It was the perfect day.
When we came home we rested for about 10 minutes then ran off to do groceries. This weekend will be a little catch up then my parents, brothers and their families will hang out for Easter.
I finally scrapbooked some of my Christmas pictures from 2011! My husband and I had gone downtown one day that winter and had a great day shopping, wandering around and having lunch.
This layout came together really quickly. I loved using washi tape on this page. Can you see where it is?
Have a wonderful Easter!

This weekend in order to work up to getting more energetic I am going to try to keep busy. It might be simple stuff, but nevertheless busy. I will do whatever I need to do not to get sleepy and lazy!
I am looking forward to our beachy weekends this summer. Last year we didn’t get to go too much. I just love hanging out with my best friends and relaxing.
These are pictures from last summer.
My friends look like super models with their big floppy hats! I bought two at the end of the season so next year I will be sporting one too! Now I am trying to be proactive about healthy skin when I used to sit in the sun slathered in baby oil as a teenager. You live and learn!
Have a great weekend!

I can’t believe I am the first one up today! Yay! I get to enjoy some quiet coffee time! Maybe I will even get something accomplished…maybe not! The weather here has been wonderful for this time of year. It has pretty much been in the 30’s and today there is a tiny bit of snow on the ground. I have only worn my winter coat once so far and I am so ok with that.
I adore this scrapbook page I am going to show you.
This layout is colorful, simple and dare I say frugal? I pretty much used scrap paper on this layout. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and parentheses. How simple is that? These pictures are of my daughter for her trunk party before she went away to school. She has decided to come back home. She was absolutely homesick and was truly unhappy. I have come to terms with it and she is now home happy and healthy! She will be going to community college and who knows maybe she will decide to go to another college or university? Time will tell!
Enjoy your weekend!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned. Mine is completely booked! I am super busy this weekend so I will need to do just light cleaning this weekend…I’m ok with that!
This year my daughter’s graduation and my Dad’s birthday were on the same day. It definitely made the celebrating a little bit easier. After graduation we went to celebrate at a nearby restaurant. I love my Dad. We have what I would like to think somewhat of a special bond. I have been so lucky to have him for all these years. He turned 73 this past May. I could not imagine my life without him.
Anytime I feel down I feel like I have to talk to my Dad. Even if I don’t talk to him about whatever the problem is I feel so much better just hearing his voice. I miss him when I don’t see him and I usually speak to him about 3 or 4 times a week. Love you Daddy!

How exciting is it when there is a new addition to your family. Whether it’s a niece, nephew, boy or girl it’s always exciting. My sister-in-law and brother welcomed their fourth…yes, fourth child into their (our) family in May of this year. We were so excited!
I love scrapbooking feminine pages because they just seem so much easier to me than masculine pages. This page is just simple and girly!
Butterflies may be simple embellishments, but they add so much to a page. I still have to add my journaling to the little cute rectangle.
Have a great weekend!
