Are you in the mood for love? If you’re not you should get into it–Valentines Day is almost here! I believe I am a hopeless romantic at heart. But I’m also cynical about love. When I hear that someone is getting married first I think—suckers! Then I’m like awww how romantic!
Love is love. It’s beyond anything material, sometimes it’s beyond our reach, sometimes it’s the most beautiful thing ever and other times it’s the worst thing every! We’ll never understand it…
But materialistic or not getting gifts on Valentines Day is awesome!
I made this adorable post it holder for my swap group. The embossing of the sentiment gave it a little elegance.
Isn’t it lovely? I used the embellishments that I made a while back with vintage sheet music.
The inside cover has a paper that’s a bit more modern. This comes together very quickly so you still have time to make some. This is the perfect little gift for anyone who you:
- is addicted to paper
and many other reasons which I’ll let you come up with!

Mother Nature is playing with my emotions. I get teased for a few days and I get to wear some peep toes shoes. The next day I am wearing boots again. Please, Mother Nature send me some really nice weather that will stay for a long while. I’m done with the teasing!
It has been busy and also lazy here. Some days are pretty busy others I find myself just laying around!
Last weekend we went to a food truck festival. I learned about it on facebook and have always wanted to eat food from a food truck. Why? I don’t even know.
I thought the food was a little pricey. This was a sampler from an asian food truck. It included a Lemon Grass Chicken Taco, Pork Belly Slider and Filet Mignon Slider. The chicken was delicious! It had such a fresh taste. The pork belly was not my thing! I don’t like gooey fat. The beef slider was ok. More than anything this sampler just looked pretty!
I had to have a Lobster and Crab Roll so I waited almost two hours in line. It was funny because for the first hour everyone was real chatty and happy. When we were in the second hour a lot of people around us stopped being so happy (including us) we just stood there quietly because of the long wait and in my case my feet were killing me! And I felt that the rolls were just OK. My husband only took one bite out of the lobster roll.
The lines, OH, the lines! I waited 2 hours for some jerk chicken that truthfully would have tasted better if I had made it at home. I was so crabby by the time we got the jerk chicken that I didn’t even take a picture of it.
I have experienced a food truck festival and will never go again. I sound like a big downer. Maybe I’m too old for that kind of thing…NAH! It was the long waits in line that made me the most unhappy. It was nice to get home and put my feet up!
A while back I made this birthday card but I don’t think I ever posted it so here it is. Isn’t it cute?
I like the gatefold card because of the way it opens up. Just a little different than the everyday card.
Thanks for stopping by! We’ll chat again soon!

I hope everyone is well!
I have been quite buys going to my parents house almost everyday to make sure my mom eats something and takes her meds. It’s been a bit hectic and I have been unable to post like I usually do. I think my moms recuperation is going to take a while so I will be running around crazy for a bit of the near future. I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know that I am thankful for many, many things. I have been very blessed. I am also thankful for you! Thank you for hanging in there with me and checking out my blog.
I usually send out a Thanksgiving card to my best friends but this year things were too busy to even get cards done. I did make at least one card and I love the way it turned out. This card is simple, has minimum stamping and yet makes and impact with the top layer.
I am currently doing like 5 things at one time. I am posting this, have a cake in the oven and in the process of making something else. Thanksgiving will be here at my house and I am getting everything ready.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends!
If you are Black Friday Shopping good luck to you…I will be sleeping comfortably in my bed through all that madness!

I went to the movies yesterday and I am totally in love with “The Book of Life”. I had seen the commercials for the movie back in July when I was in Mexico and I have been waiting since then for the movie to come out. It was so colorful, had life lessons and was great for all ages! I feel an obsession coming on like a sickness! Afterwards we just had to go to McDonald’s to get the happy meal that comes in the Book of Life buckets! I know-something is wrong with me!
Isn’t the bucket cute? I will be using it for storing stuff.
You already know about my obsession with Elvis. I made some thank you cards with some Elvis stamps that I have and they came out adorable!
I used the embossing and chalk techniques on this card which I thought worked well with Elvis! You can never have too many thank you cards on hand!
Have a great day!

Did you have a good weekend? Mine was pretty good. The only downside was my feet! I was planning on going on a pub crawl on Saturday but my feet hurt so much that I decided not to. I don’t think I would have made it all night with my hurting feet. These darn heel spurs are cramping my style!
Luckily crafting can be done sitting down. I have so much scrap paper that I am still looking for what to do with it. I just hate to see it all thrown in a box. My solution? Making embellishments with the paper. In this case corsage embellishments.
Of course I also had a lot of smaller store brought embellishments. I adhered a small corsage on the larger corsage and then adhered the store bought embellishment onto the smaller corsage. I have at least 30 of these now. I will be able to use them on scrap book pages, cards, gift bags and so many other things.
Have a great day!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I slept in, decorated, celebrated, cleaned and enjoyed my weekend! I chopped up, boiled and froze our garden pumpkins!
Aren’t they pretty? Well, they were pretty! Now they are waiting to be used in some baked goods or other tasty recipes.
With Fall officially starting tomorrow I wanted to be ready and have my house decorated. I have some salvaged windows that I thought would make great decorations. This window is super cute and really didn’t cost a penny!
What do you think? I did absolutely nothing to this window other than clean the glass. I like the peeled paint. It gives it character. All I did was cut out the letters and leaves on my Cricut using vinyl and adhered them. The bow lost it’s partner somewhere so I figured I would put it to use. I had everything on hand so the cost of this project is pretty much zero!
I added some fall mums and that completed my little vignette.
I love the way this all turned out and I love Fall. It’s totally my favorite!
Have a wonderful day!
I don’t know about you but when I heard about Robin Williams passing I was so shocked. I just gasped! How can it be? He brought so much laughter to so many lives. I hope that he is in a better place. I am sure he will be greatly missed.
It seems fitting that I had planned to post this card.
I had never made a pocket card until this challenge in our swap group. I really enjoyed making this card. It’s just too cute with it’s pocket! I usually make just the regular fold card but I think this is now my favorite style of card to make…that is when I have extra time!
I am sure Robin Williams brightened up many people’s days with his great talents. It only takes a small kind word to brighten someones day (or a cute card!). It’s something that maybe I should practice everyday!
Enjoy your day!
