So I believe I’ve been making myself suffer more than I have to. I am doing as little as possible right now so that my foot heals really well. People might think I’m trying to milk it and I’m being lazy but I’m not (my family won’t allow they’re pretty spoiled.)…I’m just trying to literally get back on my feet. I am used to doing everything at home from working all day, cleaning, cooking and dealing with the everyday stuff. So it’s hard just lying around being bored. Thanksgiving Day I was on my feet all day. I could barely walk for the next two days. The pain in my feet was excruciating-it needs to go! So I’m a little crabby-big deal. I’ll get over it and my family will too. I have to do something for myself once in a while.
Anyway…about two weeks ago I made my Christmas tags for this year. The funny thing is that I have only been able to use it on one gift! Since I am not going up and down the stairs my daughter has helped me wrap a few gifts and she missed putting the tag on. What am I going to do–nothing.
It’s the easiest tag to make and you can use paper scraps and recycle some pop tabs. Easy and cute.
OK…I’m going back to the couch now to watch like my 50th movie in a week! I sometimes post more on my Instagram or here on Facebook so check them out.

I hope everyone is well!
I have been quite buys going to my parents house almost everyday to make sure my mom eats something and takes her meds. It’s been a bit hectic and I have been unable to post like I usually do. I think my moms recuperation is going to take a while so I will be running around crazy for a bit of the near future. I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know that I am thankful for many, many things. I have been very blessed. I am also thankful for you! Thank you for hanging in there with me and checking out my blog.
I usually send out a Thanksgiving card to my best friends but this year things were too busy to even get cards done. I did make at least one card and I love the way it turned out. This card is simple, has minimum stamping and yet makes and impact with the top layer.
I am currently doing like 5 things at one time. I am posting this, have a cake in the oven and in the process of making something else. Thanksgiving will be here at my house and I am getting everything ready.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends!
If you are Black Friday Shopping good luck to you…I will be sleeping comfortably in my bed through all that madness!

Whew! It’s been such a busy week! It hasn’t been this busy in the course of a week in I don’t know how long!
We went to a wedding on Friday. It was a smaller wedding and I have found that hose seem to be the most meaningful and fun. I attended a baby shower yesterday that was also fun. It was so nice to see friends, eat, laugh and celebrate babies. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday. I usually don’t like that kind of movie but I was quite surprised. I actually liked it! There was adventure, love, comedy. I am waiting for the next movie!
Today I have a quick and easy baby card. This was so simple and easy to make!
This card came together so easily and works for a boy or girl.
Here’s to Monday! Another long week!

Today is World Card Day. You know I love making cards. There are just so many possibilities with such a craft. Since it’s World Card Day I wanted to share a card!
This card turned out so nicely and was so simple. It’s a nice clean card.
I did want to share another thing. Operation Write Home is a wonderful organization. They take donated handmade cards and ship them out to our American troops serving our country in many different places. The troops can then send these cards home to their loves ones for different occasions. Being a card maker I had tons of cards that I didn’t use and I wanted to make sure they went to good use so last year I sent quite a box to Operation Write Home. Let’s support our troops with creativity, encouragement and help them stay in contact with their family and friends. For more information you can check out their website here at Operation Write Home
Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday! I am thrilled! It has been a most difficult week. I am drained and will be buying some vitamins to help me out! I come home from work and I just want to sleep. Ever since I’ve been working in a school it has taken me two weeks to get back to my routine. This year seems different. It is just taking longer and I am exhausted, but maybe it’s just because I am older!
And older, and older! I am celebrating a birthday this Sunday! I am not embarrassed about my age like a lot of women are. I wear my age proudly! Sure I am not as thin or as beautiful as I would like to be but I must say (and other have told me too!) that I do not look my age. I hope they weren’t saying it just to be nice. I am turning 45 on Sunday. I come from two families with long lives so I hope I live many, many more years. I can also say something else…I have not gotten one gray hair. Nobody believes me but I am really telling the truth! OK-so I’m tootin’ my own horn. pattin’ myself on the back, being vain…I don’t do it very often so there it is!
Besides myself I have two other friends celebrating birthdays this weekend. Happy Birthday, Kelly and Barb! It’s a birthday card kind of day!
This card was put together very simply and using some scraps too! A little sewing goes a long way!
Have a great day!

I am officially on countdown for vacation! Only 4 days until vacation not counting the weekend! OHHH I can’t wait! It’s been a bit busy here but nothing too exciting this week.
Zumba is making me sad. My feet hurt so much by the time I am half way into it that it makes me want to cry! I can’t concentrate on the routine because the pain in my heels is so bad. It is obviously not for me because of that. Maybe I need to wait until I actually have the proper orthotics for my gym shoes? I guess I should be doing a non-impact exercise. I thought of water aerobics but I really don’t want to put on a bathing suit and isn’t that really for mature ladies of let’s say an age of 80? My husband suggested Yoga but I don’t think I can bend like that! Any suggestions?
I made this card a while back for my swap group but hadn’t posted it. This is a great card to make if you are making a lot of cards where you can use the “assembly line” way of making them.
I really like the way the colors complement each other. This card has a natural feel to it yet it pops because of the colors.
Today is a very important day. My son turns 21 years old! He is such a great
kid…I guess I should say man! That is just so weird! I have a son that is a man!
I took this picture just this past Sunday as he was installed as a Junior Deacon at the Masonic Lodge he belongs to.
I totally remember my pregnancy with him…it was horrible! I was sick for six months! And after he was born he had colic so he didn’t sleep….and neither did we…but it was all worth it! He was so wanted and we are so lucky to have him. I pray that he fulfills his dreams and that he continues to be the wonderful son and person that he is. I am truly blessed that he is mine! Happy Birthday to my Julian! I love you, papí!

This past Mother’s Day I was able to choose my gift. I chose a sewing machine. What the heck is wrong with me??? I don’t even know how to sew. I’ve seen all sorts of paper projects that have been sewn on. I just had to have it. I finally know how to use the basic stitches so I started sewing. I made these adorable Halloween gift bags with my new-found skills. In the gift bag is a little paper bag with treats in it.
I like this little bag because you can make it for any holiday/event and just decorate it any way you want. I found the original idea at justgivemestamps.typepad.com There are some great vintage looking projects there.
