Are you in the mood for love? If you’re not you should get into it–Valentines Day is almost here! I believe I am a hopeless romantic at heart. But I’m also cynical about love. When I hear that someone is getting married first I think—suckers! Then I’m like awww how romantic!
Love is love. It’s beyond anything material, sometimes it’s beyond our reach, sometimes it’s the most beautiful thing ever and other times it’s the worst thing every! We’ll never understand it…
But materialistic or not getting gifts on Valentines Day is awesome!
I made this adorable post it holder for my swap group. The embossing of the sentiment gave it a little elegance.
Isn’t it lovely? I used the embellishments that I made a while back with vintage sheet music.
The inside cover has a paper that’s a bit more modern. This comes together very quickly so you still have time to make some. This is the perfect little gift for anyone who you:
- is addicted to paper
and many other reasons which I’ll let you come up with!

It’s me! I feel like I’ve been missing in action for a while! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year! We spent New Year’s Eve at my cousin’s house. I absolutely love my cousin and her family and we had a lot of fun! We did karaoke and I feel like I want to do it all the time now!
I took all my Christmas decorations down before new year and put my regular stuff back out. About two years ago I bought what I would call milk glass punch bowl. I was so excited when I saw the price on it. Ten dollars!!! I couldn’t believe it! I grabbed it right away. It came with eight cups.
I am just gaga over this punch bowl! I have used it several times and looks beautiful no matter what you put in it. Even a trifle would be beautiful in it.
I don’t really know if this is vintage, antique, or a reproduction. It’s so beautiful (and I’ve never seen one like it) I think it doesn’t matter. This punch bowl beats all those glass punch bowls from the eighties! The tablecloth under the bowl is also vintage. I love that table cloth too!
I am back at work today and am going to have a hard week. Over winter break I was sleeping between 3-4 hours more than I normally do!How am I going to take a nap? At work? I am also studying to become hearing and vision screening certified and that requires studying! UGH! I can’t remember what I did yesterday and then I have to learn all this new stuff. I feel like a high schooler again. I won’t be done with everything until towards the end of February so I better take some Ginko Biloba or something to help my memory! It’s going to be a busy two months!
Have a great day!
The weather has been super dreary! I am surprised I can stay up during the day-but I guess that’s because I’ve been taking a nap every evening. Ugh! Totally not being productive at home!
You know that i love vintage and antique things. A couple of months ago my husband and I went to a local thrift store and I could have fainted! Sitting there, up on the top shelf was a beautiful pitcher that matched a bar set that I have. OMG! It was only like $4.00. I snatched it up right away! What are the odds!
I just love the color! You can see my bar set here.
I am quite sad that this year I did not make it to Kane County Flea Market. By the time the weather was nice enough to go I was off on vacation and things have been so busy since I got back that I haven’t even had time to devote to a full day at the flea market. I am looking forward to going next year.
Keep your eyes open. Treasures are everywhere!
It’s Friday and yesterday was the last day of school for our kids! I am so relieved that I don’t have to struggle to get my daughter up for school for a while. It was definitely hard getting her to go to bead early because as she says “I am on Vacation. I can stay up all night”. I don’t think so….
I wanted to share a gift that I made for Teacher Appreciation for some very special ladies. I am a little late since Teacher Appreciation was a few weeks ago.
This gift set came together pretty quickly! It was really just a matter of putting different elements together. Included were two blank cards and the decorated kraft bag.
I love giving gifts like this because if the recipient likes they can use the cards and then use the gift bag for someone else. It’s also great because again, you can use scrap paper. Believe it or not I found the time cards at a thrift store. Keep your eyes openfor weird or different things that you think you might never use… it’s the oddest things that make the most interesting cards!

I hope your week is going well! I am having a good week and am looking forward to it going by fast! It’s been pretty quiet around here.
Have you ever noticed that when the warm weather comes around all the pregnant women come out? I started noticing this back when I was pregnant for the first time. I really did not like going out in winter for various reasons. It was cold, I was tired, I couldn’t find a coat that fit and most of all I was afraid to fall! The warm weather calls everyone outside!
I made this tag that took me less than five minutes to make.
This tag reminds me of one from the 1970’s.All I used was a manila tag, some washi tape and two stamps. Super easy!
Hope you have a great day!
Supplies: PTI, Uline, misc. washi tape
I have been working on making lots of embellishments for scrapbooking and card making. It’s just a matter of adding handmade or store bought small embellishments to die cuts and their negatives in this case. Remember these heart embellishments from last week? This week I used the negative heart cut out from those hearts to make more embellishments.
They turned out just adorable. All I did was back the negative cut with some scrapbook paper, glue glitter around the heart and add the smaller embellishments. The little profile I cut using my Cricut. I was able to use both the cut and the negative cut of the profile. I love using vintage items for paper crafts. Here I used vintage sheet music and vintage seam binding for the bow.
I can’t wait to use these embellishments on a craft!
Supplies: Stampin’ Up!, Vintage seam binding and sheet music, Jolee’s, Cricut, Want2Scrap, misc. scrapbook paper
When I got up yesterday morning there were two things that unfortunately started the day off wrong. I had pink eye. It had snowed overnight. I was like come on!!!! When I showed my husband and Julieta my eye they suggested I just put on an eye patch and go to work. Really?
1. It’s not Halloween
2. Where do I buy an eye patch?
3. I would just be covering the problem.
Instead I decided to go to the doctor and I am better now! Since I was home I decided to do even more spring cleaning. I filled a bag and a box with more items to donate. Yay!
Whenever I go to Kane County Flea Market I always buy vintage sheet music from the same lady. She has some awesome stuff. I just kind of collect it until I use it. I had seen some heart embellishments on Pinterest and of course had to case them because they were so pretty.
These are going to look so pretty on a card, scrapbook, gift, or any other type of paper crafting.
Negative heart cut outs + small store bought embellishment hopefully=more gorgeous embellishments. I better start getting creative. Waste not want not!
Have a great day!
